Ice Cream Social
Sunday, August 8th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m.
This is a free event, but you must register with the bookshop by August 6th.
Join shop favorites Dennis Royer, Mike Silvestri and David Stewart as well as new authors Thomas Kaufman and John Vaszko for a make-it-yourself ice cream sundae.
The price of each author's books will be reduced the day of the signing.

Movie in the Meadow (Outside Screening)

The Mechanicsburg Mystery Bookshop and The Susquehanna Mysteries Alliance present a mystery classic:
The List of Adrian Messenger, George C. Scott, Kirk Douglas, Burt Lancaster, Robert Mitchum & Frank Sinatra
A retired officer (George C. Scott) must uncover the identity of a mass murderer who is killing off the potential heirs to a family fortune. The only clues are the names on the list of murdered heir Adrian Messenger. The tension builds as the final evil unfolds during a suspense-filled fox hunt. Let the chase begin!
Bring lawn chairs and some snacks and head out to the Mechanicsburg Mystery Bookshop for a night of FREE entertainment.

Wine & Cheese Tasting at the Holly Inn
November 13th, 2010 at 3:00 p.m.
This event is just $7.00 per person. Enjoy a wine & cheese tasting at the Holly Inn while listening to Ellen Crosby talk about her Wine Country Series of mystery novels. The acclaimed author will be happy to sign her books for you, copies will be available for purchase.
After the wine & cheese tasting and Ellen Crosby's presentation join the author and her family for dinner at 6:00 p.m. $49.00 per person (All inclusive)
Reservations required by November 5th 2010.

Chickies Rock Haunted Hike
Saturday, August 21st, 2010 at 12:00 noon.
This event is $3.00 per person for pavilion rental & donation to The National Museum of Mysteries and Research Center.
Join the Susquehanna Mysteries Alliance for a haunted hiking adventure. Chickies Rock Park is the most bizarre and haunted area in south central Pennsylvania. Enjoy a day of friends, food, exercise, spectacular views, spooky tales and strange stories about this beautiful, natural park beside the Susquehanna River between Marietta and Columbia in Lancaster County.
Join us for a hiking tour of the area guided by the president of the Paranormal Society of Pennsylvania, Rick Fisher. Rick has recorded many ghostly voices at the base of Chickies Rock where probably hundreds of people have met their deaths due to suicide, accidents or foul play.
Bring your own bagged lunch as we meet at the Pavilion where the storytelling will begin.
Learn about the many ghosts of Chickies, old curse placed on the area, shade of a robber who continues to protect his treasure, strange creatures that once called Chickies home, mysterious tales of strange sightings, haunted railroad tunnel, Native American spirits that roam the forest, and much more!
You will be mezmerized by the abundance of bizarre stories while enjoying the natural beauty of the park. The view from the top of Chickies Rock is breath-taking!
Payment can be made the day of the event; however, you must pre-register by calling The Mechanicsburg Mystery Bookshop at (717) 795-7470.
All adults welcome, but each person is responsible for his or her own welfare and safety.
Please note: This leisure hike requires moderate walking activity-although most of the terrain is flat (an old trolley path). Total walking distance will be around 3 miles. Wear sturdy shoes.
Don't forget to bring: bagged lunch, sturdy shoes, insect repellent, sun protection (SPF), plenty of bottled water, sun glasses, camera, a sense of adventure.
